The Ward Curse strikes again

The subjects I choose to paint seem to be prone to destruction. It happened to the house in my painting "Mr. Hopper Waters the Lawn", among others, and has now happened to this Corona del Mar house. It was inevitable, given the ocean-view location. What was once a charming mid-century house will become an overwrought mini-mansion more suitable, unfortunately, for the neighborhood.
